Terms
Terms of service
Plain English, not a wall of legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, email us and ask.
Draft, pending legal review
1
What the service is
VibeBeacon (“the service”) watches the runtimes, frameworks and packages behind apps you tell it about, and emails you when a security advisory lands on a version you run. It is operated from Australia. These terms are a contract between you and VibeBeacon for using the service.
2
Accounts
You sign in with a magic link or GitHub. No passwords are stored. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email and any API keys you create under your control. Tell us if you think a key has leaked; revoking it takes one click in Settings.
3
The free app and paid apps
Your first app is free. Each additional app is a paid, per-app subscription billed through Stripe. We may change plans and prices at any time, but we will always email notice to subscribers before a change takes effect for them, giving you the chance to cancel first.
4
Acceptable use
- Do not use the service to scan or monitor apps you do not have the right to monitor.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with the service for other users.
- Do not upload anything other than a manifest as described in the manifest format reference; the server rejects anything that looks like a secret, and repeated attempts may lead to account suspension.
- Do not resell or rebrand the service without written agreement.
5
What we store
We hold package names, versions and a small amount of account data, nothing else. The full, field-by-field description of what is stored and for how long is on the privacy page, which is part of these terms by reference.
6
Availability
The service is provided on a best-effort basis. At this stage of the product we make no uptime guarantee and offer no service credits for downtime. We aim to tell you about planned maintenance in advance where practical.
7
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Australian Consumer Law.
8
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your apps, alerts and email address as described on the privacy page. We can suspend or close an account that breaches the acceptable use section above, and will tell you why when we do.
9
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Rhys: confirm this is the state or territory you want (eg. New South Wales) before launch.
